Adoption Connection provides Homestudy Education as required by the State of Ohio. Our Homestudy Education groups are open, interactive, and informative forums consisting of prospective adoptive parents. They are led by one of our social workers who is an adoptive parent.
The Homestudy Education groups are designed to:
- provide factual information about the adoption process
- introduce you to adoption issues
- give you an opportunity to explore and discuss your thoughts, feelings, questions, and concerns
Guest speakers such as an adoptive couple, a birth parent or an adult adoptee share their own adoption stories.
Since this education is required as part of the approval for adoption, all prospective adoptive parents must attend each session. The upcoming Homestudy Education groups are scheduled for:
- Saturday, January 28, 2012 9 a.m. - 4:30 p.m
- Tuesday, January 31, 2012 6:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.
- Saturday, February 4, 2012 10 a.m. - Noon
- Saturday, February 11, 2012 9 a.m. - 4:30 p.m
