Chris and Nikki

Dear Birthparent,

We are so grateful for the time you are spending to read about us. We know that it is with deep love that you’ve decided to seek adoption for your child. We are humbled by your decision, and we are here to tell our story with the utmost respect and admiration for you. We are so pleased to meet you.

About Us
We met in 2002 as strangers, striking up a conversation that hasn’t yet stopped. Married for over six years, we are each other’s best friend. We find that both our common interests and differences are what make our love for each other strong, and keep our marriage lively. We have found over the eight years we have been together that we challenge one another to be the best people we can be. Finding comfort and joy in each other’s smiles, our most beloved times are ones spent together. And we work hard to spend as much time as we can with each other. Simply put, we adore one another. Whether going to a concert, exploring a new restaurant or city, spending time at home or with family, we have the best laughs together.

About Chris
Chris was born and raised in Northern Kentucky, and is very proud to profess his love for his home state. He grew up in a small town with his Mom, Step-Father and two older step-siblings, and his favorite childhood memories include riding his bike to Reds games, admiring nearby trains (as well as model-trains, which still reside in our basement), and exploring the neighborhood with his pals, a few of which he still talks to on a weekly-basis. Still a very avid reader, and always curious, it’s no surprise that Chris pursued a career in journalism. Joining the Air Force Reserves while attending NKU, Chris found his passion for knowledge and his strong work ethic that shines through everything he does.

Chris’ pure love for life is apparent in everything he does. He’s a child at heart and it shows. Whether telling corny jokes, watching a ballgame, or throwing snowballs with the neighborhood kids, he finds joy in everything. He’s a “glass half-full” kind of guy. He is going to be a great father because he also brings tremendous patience, a sense of adventure, and intense passion for the things he loves, including reading, trains, and Reds baseball. He can’t wait to be a Dad, so he can teach our children to love reading and road trips, plant and harvest his amazing homegrown tomatoes, coach ball teams, go to Reds games, and generally just become passionate about anything in which our child takes an interest.

About Nikki
Nikki was born and raised in Cincinnati and she is incredibly close with her parents and brother, to whom she speaks with several times each week. Though she grew up in an urban area, she feels fortunate to have spent her childhood hiking through the creek nearby, playing basketball and exploring the outdoors on days that her nose wasn’t in a book. Nikki was involved in every sport or activity a child could be, and has always had diverse interests. Always interested in art, Nikki studied design at the University of Cincinnati, and enjoyed internships in cities like New York and Boston, and eventually moved away to work in the Cleveland area. She came home to Cincinnati to be closer to family when we decided to get married. Family is everything to Nikki. Having 44 first cousins, there is always family nearby. Nikki has an infectious laugh that well-characterizes her energy level and enthusiasm. She’s a great cook, and often spends her spare time between farmer’s markets and in her own vegetable & herb garden dreaming up her next culinary creation. Nikki has an undying love for music and travel whether to a big international city or to a rural arts & crafts town, and she is inspired by the opportunity to experience something new every day, and touts an excellent and eclectic taste in musical interests. Nikki has dreamed of being a mother for her entire life and can’t wait to begin in that role. She looks forward to nurturing the interests of her own child, and providing a well rounded and adventure-filled childhood filled with learning and culture for our children.

Our Life
We live in a close-knit and diverse community near the city in a school district that touts award-winning Montessori, language and arts enrichment schools. We have a beautiful old 3-bedroom house that’s ready to be filled with lots of toys, games, books, and a swing set in theback yard. Our beloved black lab mix, Quinn, loves kids and he can’t wait for a child to romp and play with. Our neighborhood is full of young children, and we are proud to live in a safe and walkable community that offers a diverse demographic, is close to many parks and libraries, the zoo, museums, and still offers the benefits of city living just a few miles away. Since we love to travel, we look forward to offering a child a lifetime of adventure and great memories traveling to the beach, culturally rich cities, and abroad as much as we can. Being so close to our families, we have grandparents, aunts and uncles waiting to spoil a little one and be around for the ballgames, piano recitals, and birthdays of our children, and we can’t wait to share that joy with all of them for years to come.

Sincerely,

Chris & Nikki
