Hi!

We are Jason & Rachel and we are more than excited to become parents! As a loving couple, we are looking to create our family through adoption. There is no way that we can possibly understand how hard this decision is for you. However, we can assure you that there’s a place in our lives, more importantly, our hearts for a child. We are deeply honored that you would consider us to parent your child; our thoughts and prayers are with you, whatever your decision may be.

We first met in study hall in the fall of 1999 and we were married in June of 2007. We are such a great match, true partners and the best of friends. Throughout our marriage we have encountered good times and times that have been extremely difficult and because of that we have grown closer to one another than ever before. We are a very active couple that loves to be with our family and to be outdoors. Often times, you can find us golfing, fishing, at the drive-in movies, playing and watching sports and going to the local flea markets. We also enjoy taking short, weekend trips. We have two dogs named Chi (pronounced Shy) and CJ; both dogs are peek-a-poos. They are great around children!

We bought our house new in January of 2008 and have been making it our home ever since. Living in a gated community, we have a sense of extra security. We have access to a fitness and recreation center, beach, campground, marina, non-denominational church and lodge within minutes of our home. We even have access to several indoor/outdoor pools, playgrounds and tennis courts. Our community has several family oriented groups that host a variety of events throughout the year. Schools in our area are top notch and have been rated excellent in the state in the recent years. Recently, we have become innovative with our cooking and have been trying out tons of new recipes. Our home is set on a wooded lot that provides shade in summer. It’s not uncommon to find us grilling out and making s’mores over our bonfire in the summer heat. In the spring we love to keep up with our landscaping, but our biggest job in the fall season is keeping up with all of the falling leaves and hickory nuts.

Family is very important to the both of us. If we are not at home or out having an adventure, you can often times find us at a family member’s home. Holidays for us are very busy! We have to make several stops for dinners and celebrations of all sorts when it comes to holidays. Jason has two brothers, one older and one younger. All of Jason’s immediate family lives within ten minutes of our home. Many of Jason’s family members even work in the same school district as him. Rachel is the youngest of four siblings. Much of Rachel’s family lives in West Virginia only a couple of hours away. Rachel’s dad and one sister live in the same gated community as us. We have numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins within hours, some within minutes, of our home. Our family is very supportive in our journey to become parents through adoption.

We both love children and believe that we have a lot to offer as parents. We are sure that parenting is one of the toughest jobs out there, but we are confident about and ready to take on that challenge. Our child will be taught manners and the difference between right and wrong from the start. Our home will be safe and protective and be filled with love, understanding and trust. In our home, values and the importance of good education will be taught at an early age. Our child will be encouraged to dream big and self-confidence will be pursued in all walks of life. In times of trouble, we will be there for our child through thick and thin and give them the tools that they will need to make it through life’s ups and downs. The needs of our child will come before our own and we will provide them with a well-rounded environment in which they are able to thrive. We strongly believe that we will make a great team—we will be great parents.

Since both of us are high school teachers, this allows us to have the summers off. At the end of each work day, we are both home by 3:30pm giving us plenty of daylight to spend with one another and to have fun! Currently, we are both taking online graduate courses in order to earn our master’s degrees. Jason is his school’s golf coach and during the golf season, Rachel loves to help with the team. In the past, Jason has also coached basketball and baseball for the school at which he works.

We value openness and honesty, both with you and within our family. We truly believe that our child will have the right to know their story and also know that we are proud of the way in which we became a family. Our child will know that they are loved not only by us, but also by so many others including you. We want you to know that we are comfortable with an open or closed adoption and are willing to work towards the type of relationship that works for all of us.
