Introduction

Hi! We're Jenn and Rich and we're excited you've chosen to learn about us through this adoption profile. During this emotional time, we're so grateful that you've taken a few minutes to get to know us. We admire your decision to consider adoption. We also realize this must be a huge and complicated experience for you. So, we hope this profile helps you with your decision, as you learn a little more about us, our beliefs and what's important in our lives.

Our Life Together

The first thing most people notice about us is that we're best friends. We love each other a lot and people usually pick up on it from the first moment they see us together. We don't really try to hide it much either. Not only do we love each other, but we really like each other too. So, we try to spend as much time together as possible and we never seem to run out of things to talk about.

We're a lot alike. In fact, sometimes it's almost spooky how much we think alike. It's not unusual for us to finish each other's sentences. Sometimes, we also anticipate what the other person wants and do it before the other person asks. This took some getting used to when we started dating. For example, when we visited each other's homes for the first time, we realized we already owned a lot of the same stuff. Anyway, whatever the reason, we're really on the same page.

In our free time together, we like to watch movies, play board games & card games, spend time outdoors and visit our friends and families. We're both history buffs, so we enjoy reading about history and visiting historical places. During the summer, we like to go to the beach or spend time at a park in the mountains. We're also active in our church. For a while we sang in the church choir together.

We have three cats: Crazy, Mr. Fuzz and Stinker Jr. Neither one of us is quite certain how we ended up with all three of them, but we adore them! They are a source of endless laughter- one cat is always up to something. But they are always very sweet and friendly to anyone that comes to our home.

We both love the holidays. It's a time for decorating our home, spending time with our friends & family and lots and lots of cooking/eating. Since our families are in different states, we seem to travel quite a bit during this time of year. However, we love to visit with everyone and we always manage to spend time with all of our extended family.

What's Important to Us

In addition to friendship and love, our marriage is built on faith and family. We believe we can overcome any problem we face, as long as we support each other and have faith in God. We tackle all of our problems together and ask God for his support through prayer. Both of us grew up attending church and we still attend regularly.

We were both blessed to have grown-up in happy, stable families. Family remains a central part of our lives and our marriage. We see our families often and talk to them by phone almost daily. They support us when we need them and we support them when they need us. We also believe the support of our families will be a great help as we raise children. Both of our families have been supportive of our decision to adopt and offered to help any way they can when the baby arrives.

Another part of life that's very important to us is education. Both of us attended college and earned master's degrees in business. We've experienced firsthand how a good education can improve a person's life and open doors that might not otherwise be available. We've had much happier and more fulfilling lives because our parents pushed us to get a good education. So, when we adopt a child, we plan to do our best to help that child get a good education.

Rich about Jenn

The first thing most people notice about Jennifer is that she is very positive and very, very, energetic. She is also one of the most genuine and open people you will ever meet. She's always willing to share her feelings and there isn't a fake bone in her body. Jenn looks for the best in every person and situation. People seem drawn to her and she has a gift for bringing out the best in them. Even complete strangers find her easy to talk to.

Jennifer is very loving and positive. Her enthusiasm for life is contagious. She's a bundle of energy who can't stand to sit still for very long. She's always working on several projects at any given time.

Jennifer loves to help other people and often volunteers her time to assist those less fortunate than herself. She participated in church mission trips to Russia and Mexico, and for five years mentored teenagers. She has a particularly soft heart when it comes to children and senior citizens and takes every opportunity to help them.

Jennifer also has a goofy side that she shows when she dances (well) and sings (badly). She has a great sense of humor and doesn't take herself too seriously. If she doesn't have a person in the house to sing or dance with, you might catch her singing to our cats or performing a dance for them. Her quirky sense of humor is one of her most charming qualities.

Jenn loves to cook. Cooking is one of her favorite hobbies. She probably owns close to 30 cookbooks. I'm glad she can cook so well, but it's been hard for me to keep from getting fat since I married her. She also loves to decorate and takes a lot of pride in our home. She keeps our home looking clean, warm and inviting.

Jenn about Rich

Rich is the most caring and supportive man I've ever known. Every morning when I wake up, I feel blessed to be loved so much by this wonderful man. As I see him playing with our friends' children, I know what a wonderful father he will be.

He is quiet when you first meet him, but that doesn't last long. He has the best sense of humor. He can make anyone laugh. In addition, he always wants to make sure that the people in his life are alright. He is the rock for our friends and family, and he is my rock. If anyone needs anything, he is always there to support them.

He's a true gentleman and romantic. Even after over two years of marriage, he still opens my door every time I get in the car. It's nothing for him to bring me flowers after a bad day. And it still surprises me.

Rich is originally from West Virginia and loves to spend times in the outdoors. It's important for him to get out in the fresh air and move around. He also enjoys lifting weights, hiking and running.

Rich comes from a close knit family. It is an important part of who he is. He regularly visits his mom and helps her by working around her house. During the fall we both love to spend hours raking her leaves. Rich wants to make sure that her house is taken care of and that she knows she is important to us. It's one of the reasons that I love him so much. He is so good to his family.

Rich loves to read. He is a real history buff, but he will read anything from sports to old fashioned holiday stories. He is also a wonderful singer. He also makes up funny songs out of normal “radio” songs. I love to sing silly songs with Rich, but truth be told, Rich is the singer, not me!

Closing

We promise to love your baby with all our hearts. This baby will be raised by a stable family that loves to have fun and laugh. We can't wait to take the little one to their first little league baseball game or ballet lesson. We believe that it's so important that kids are allowed to be kids. Life is too short to be serious all the time. Activities allow children to develop friends and have fun.

We also promise to provide all the educational support they need. We will always be there to help with homework or read them bedtime stories. We also want to bring them up to be a thoughtful and giving person. It is important that children learn to accept people who are different from themselves. They need to learn to respect others kids for who they are.
