FROM TONY: A LITTLE ABOUT TRACY…
Tracy is manager and visual decorator for a national furniture and accessories retail store. Tracy has a passion for interior design and thoroughly enjoys making our home as stylish and comfortable as possible. Her latest project is working on designing a nursery for a child we hope to be soon blessed with. Tracy’s biggest passion in life, however, is her desire to be a mother. Because she displays incredible maternal and nurturing instincts and possesses a seemingly boundless warmth and love towards children, I believe she would make an amazing mother.
FROM TRACY: A LITTLE ABOUT TONY…
Tony is an operations manager with a local employment-staffing firm and is in charge of his company’s largest account. Tony’s biggest strengths are his integrity, strong work ethic, and his adherence to “The Golden Rule”- he treats everyone he meets, no matter who they are, just as he would like to be treated himself. Tony is a huge sports fan- especially the University of Dayton Flyers, an avid reader, trivia whiz, and home remodeler. He played basketball in college and still plays regularly in a rec league. I believe Tony will be an excellent father
because of his patience, desire to teach, and the abundant passion and love he possesses towards our niece and nephew…and one on the way (my sister and husband are expecting #3)!
OUR JOURNEY
We’ve been married for almost 3 years. It seems like only yesterday when we walked down the aisle at our church and said our “I do’s” in front of our family and friends. Having children had always been a dream we shared and once we were married we immediately began trying to start a family of our own. After a year of trying to conceive without success we consulted with an array of fertility specialists who concluded that our chances of conceiving a baby was improbable. We believe “everything happens for a reason” and we feel blessed to have grieved infertility together because it has brought us closer as a couple more than we could have ever imagined. We always talked about adoption and we feel an overwhelming sense that this is the path we are meant to follow as a way to welcome a child to our family. We will never be able to thank the family enough that gives us the privilege to raise a child and allows us to realize our dream of having a family of our own.
VALUES
Of the many values and ideals we share as a couple, there are a few that especially stand out and hold great importance to us. First and foremost, we firmly believe that there is nothing more important than family. We both cherish and adore our families and look forward to spending as much time as we can with them. We are both fortunate to have ALL of our immediate family living literally just minutes away. Whether it is a birthday party, anniversary, holiday celebration, or just for no reason at all, we always find a reason to get together and enjoy each other’s company. Both of our families are completely supportive of our adoption plan and can’t wait for the day we are blessed with a child they can spoil and shower with love!
Although as of yet we don’t have any children, we love spending time with our Jack Russell terrier, Junior, who we were lucky
enough to find as a stray about 7 years ago (again, “everything happens for a reason!!”). Junior has yet to meet anyone who he doesn’t love and want to give kisses to. If he could talk we’re sure that he would say that he is also looking forward to the addition of a child in our home because it would give him another person to run around and play with, snuggle, and of course kiss!
Another value we place great importance on is faith. We are members of Catholic Church and find great comfort and support in the community of people we have come to meet. In fact, the first person we talked to about our decision to adopt and the person who directed us towards Adoption Connection was someone we met through our church. We feel it is important to offer a child a strong foundation of faith and religious principles that they can carry with them throughout their lifetime.
We feel education is very important and will encourage our children to reach their highest potential. We want them to value education, be confident and have abundant opportunities. We both have college degrees in Business Management and Tony has a Master’s Degree in Management. We feel fortunate and thankful that we both come from families where the importance of pursuing a good education was stressed and we look forward to passing this value on to our child as well.
THE FUN WE MAKE
We feel that it important for us to possess a sense of balance in life. Although we obviously feel it is important for us to work hard in our chosen careers, we also feel equally strong that life is meant to be enjoyed. That is why when we’re not working you can find us hanging out at the dog park, camping, working out at the gym, hiking, reading, watching movies, or remodeling and decorating our house. One of our newest traditions (four years strong) is to drive up to Cleveland for the 4th of July to celebrate with our extended family. We like to take the back
roads on our way home to enjoy the scenery and make spontaneous stops along the way… a new restaurant, a fun shop, or a cool trail. Major holidays such as Easter and Christmas are always so much fun. Tracy loves to bake and make the house festive! We enjoy entertaining all year round! We look forward to each and every season and all the tradition each brings. We can’t wait for the day when we can add children’s activities to our list of fun things to do, for instance family living room dance parties, vacations to the beach, trips to Kings Island, little league games, parades, festivals and long bike rides through our neighborhood just to name a few. We’re soooo excited!!!!!
HOME
We are fortunate to live in a three bedroom two bath house that is situated in a picturesque and family friendly neighborhood. The comment that we hear most often about our house and neighborhood is that it looks like it is straight out of a Norman Rockwell painting. Our neighborhood is filled with constant family friendly activity. On any given day you will find new mothers and fathers enjoying taking their children for rides in strollers, kids riding bikes and scooters, annual block parties, and kids playing all kinds of sports and games together. Our home is located in an award winning school district and is within walking distance to schools, libraries and parks. Our home is kid ready with a basketball hoop in the driveway, an awesome sledding hill in the backyard come winter, and plenty of room to run around and act silly and have fun.
THANK YOU
