Diana and George

Dear Expectant Parents,

Hello! Our names are George and Diana. The decision to make an adoption plan for your child is a loving and courageous one. We hope this letter and these few photographs give an accurate image of who we are and the kind of parents we will be. We wish you peace and comfort in this period of your life journey.

ABOUT GEORGE (written by Diana)

There is nothing that warms my heart more than watching George live life to the fullest- whether it is at work, at play or with our families. George has always worked hard to provide for us. He takes time off frequently to celebrate our family, and our adventures. Our family will be the center of his world and he loves to savor as many memories as he can. He is so excited to be a father and to hold, cuddle, kiss, and sing to our son or daughter.

ABOUT DIANA (written by George)

Diana has a big heart for children and for animals. Diana is a fantastic, dedicated high school science teacher. She is extremely involved in her school community, and really strives to do her best to help her students learn. Many of the traits she uses with her students will aid her in her journey of motherhood. Her love for animals has rubbed off on me, as we enjoy visiting the local zoo, and aquarium. Her warmth and knowledge will make her a fantastic mother. I cannot wait to be a witness to her journey of becoming a mom.

Favorite Animal..... Sea Otter

Favorite Movie........ The Lion King

Favorite Book........Harry Potter

Favorite Activities.........traveling, kayaking, going to thrift stores.

Family is very important to both of us and we spend a lot of time with our families. We are both fortunate enough to have loving, supportive parents and always had a lot of family and friends to care, guide and encourage us.   We frequently have our families over at our house for gatherings like cookouts, birthdays, Thanksgiving, Christmas and other events. We hope that our child will feel they are valued, loved, supported, and guided.

We have several family pets. We love animals, so how could we not? Our oldest and wisest pet, Scruffles is an adorable tabby cat.  Camille is our playfully young Calico cat. She was rescued by Diana's students.  Preston is a Shih Tzu Poodle we adopted from a shelter group in December 2007. He is a playful little pup who tries very hard to please.

George and I are truly best friends and are able to count on each other no matter what. Our communication, faith, trust, love, friendship, and dedication to each other are what have made our marriage successful.  We enjoy being together and are grateful for the experiences we have had. Such as:

- Walking our dog together

- Attended the HP premieres together

- Dress up each Halloween (Zombies, Hogwarts students etc)

- Traveling to various places (Outer Banks, Smokey Mountains, Disney, Canada etc)

- Going to concerts

- Kayaking adventures together

After all this time we have discovered that the best thing about our relationship is that it doesn't matter where we are or what we are doing, as long as we are together.

Our home is near several schools, parks, and there are plenty of young families. We love spending time with our family and friends there. It is a place where we hope others feel welcome. Our neighborhood has lots of children running around most afternoons, and various games are often held. We can often be found playing with them, or helping them out.  It is a fantastic place to welcome a new family member!

Our hope is that, as our child grows, they're not only going to know how much we love them, but also how much you love them. We realize everyone has a different expectation of openness and we want to be flexible when making our adoption plan. We want our child to experience the benefits from having many connections to their families. Our child will always know their adoption story, and we plan to start telling that story through books, videos and discussions; even when our child is young. We will be glad to maintain contact through the exchange of photos, letters, emails, and some family visits. Our child will always know their roots, how much they are loved, and that you have a special place in our hearts, dreams, and our family.

We want to take a moment to truly thank you for taking the time to get to know some of our story! Although we don't know you, we hope this letter has told you a little more about us. We can't imagine the strength it takes to make this decision. We hope you have all the peace and support you need while you go through this time. We are excited to get to know you better and share all the upcoming moments and memories together. If you have any questions, please ask!
