Dear Expectant Mother,
Thank you for considering us as a prospective family. We would like to use this letter as a quick introduction to our family and hope that you may find a connection that resonates with you. If you decide to meet with us, we hope you will find that we are a family that is filled with love; love for each other and love for you. We care about you and the decisions you will make throughout this journey. We believe that we will be in this together and will respect you at every point. Mike’s mother was faced with a similar situation many years ago, and blessed a family with his older sister.
We are the first to admit that we aren’t that great at writing letters, but we hope to offer you a glimpse as to who we are and what fuels our life. We won’t sugar coat this; we are a family that loves the Lord Jesus Christ, and are compelled by His incredible love for all people as well as His command to love others as ourselves. Our faith is something that is an integral part of our lives. We go to a church that has a very diverse body. We believe strongly that diversity is something to be cherished and honored, and that God’s image is present in all cultures, ethnicities, and races.
So, here’s a little bit about us: Mike is an architect and works for a large firm in downtown Cincinnati. He also enjoys woodworking, big and small projects around the house, golf, mountain biking, disc golf and getting outside any chance he can. Kari is a stay at home mother who also volunteers a lot of her time at Rowen’s elementary school and at church. Knowing that is all going to change when the baby is here, she is excited about spending her days loving on and taking care of this new precious child. Kari loves to cook, read, hike, take walks around the neighborhood and gardening. Rowen is our 6 year old son who has a very sweet heart as well as an incredible imagination. He loves playdates with his friends, playing outside, drawing, reading and Graeter’s ice cream. He has been asking for a baby sister for quite some time now and if you look at our photo book, you will see the letter he wrote to her back in the fall. We couldn’t agree more with him about adding a little one to our family and want to assure you that she will be loved beyond what words can describe.
From the bottom of our hearts we want to thank you for your time and consideration. We would be honored to meet you and discuss any questions or thoughts you may have.
